Translation of the Front Cover of Letter: Dachau Concentration Camp 3K The Following rules must be observed when corresponding with prisoners: 1.) Each prisoner in protective custody may receive two letters or two cards from their relatives per month and send two letters or two cards to them. Letters to prisoners must be written in ink, be clearly legible, and contain no more than 15 lines per page. Only one standard-size letterhead is permitted. Envelopes must be unlined. Only 5 stamps worth 12 Pfennigs may be enclosed in a letter. Anything else is prohibited and subject to confiscation. Postcards have 10 lines. Photographs may not be used as postcards. 2.) Money transfers are permitted. 3.) Please ensure that the exact address, consisting of name, date of birth, and prisoner number, is written on the envelope when sending money or mail. If the address is incorrect, the mail will be returned to the sender or destroyed. 4.) Newspapers are permitted, but may only be ordered through the K. L. Dachau post office. 5.) Packages may not be sent, as prisoners can buy everything they need in the camp. 6.) Requests for release from protective custody addressed to the camp administration are futile. 7.) Prisoners in the concentration camp are not permitted to speak to visitors or receive visitors.
