Insignia includes Brass Domed type US and Infantry branch of service insignia. Shoulder sleeve insignia of the 45th Infantry division Thunderbird on right and left sleeves. Rank insignia of Master sergeant on both sleeves with service insignia of six horizontal gold embroidered bars on left lower sleeve plus five overseas service bars below. On left breast is Combat Infantry badge with one star,; ribbon bar with ribbons for individual decorations: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal, European Campaign Medal with four battle stars, Army of Occupation Medal, United Nations Korean Service Medal, and Korean Campaign Medal with one star.
