Published in the 45th Division News, 6 May 1944, Vol. IV, No. 37, Caption "Pvt. William Moore, Oklahoma City, company barber for one of the Medic Companies, felt that some of the boys in his outfit had been slighted when they weren't given good conduct ribbons. He gathered up all of the pasteboard he could find, cut them into the proper shapes, painted the red and white stripes on them, then notified the 12 ribbonless men in the company that there would be a formation that afternoon. The time came and Moore presented the ribbon to the men, making an appropriate speech with each. When he was through, one of the men stepped out of the ranks and pinned the Valor ribbon on him.
