Major General John Church served in the 45th Division during WWII rising through the ranks; he became the Division’s Chief of Staff and later assistant division commander. In 1944, he was promoted to Brigadier General and transferred to the 84th Division. During the Korean War he served as commander of the 24th Division. For his actions during the crossing of the Naktong River, he was awarded another Silver Star.Made/Created
