Silver ice pitcher, made by Reed & Barton. Baluster shaped ice water pitcher engraved "Presented to Denis Galligan by a vote of his friends at the G.A.R. fair November 18th 1875". Scroll handle with modeled waterfowl and cattails. Tapered triangular spout accented with arabesques and crossed lotus leaves. Body of pitcher has engraved design of pond lilies, cattails and foliage. Band above has alternating antelope, butterfly and ostrich pulled chariots containing cherubs, also two modeled bearded men. Band below features cherubs engaged in various activities. High doomed lid with reeded band waterfowl finial; reeded band repeated on stepped base.Made/Created
