Taunton Chest is a blanket or dowry chest, made by Robert Crosman for his cousin, Abigail Woodward. The chest has simple board feet with one pull out drawer along bottom and three drawer facade with the top lifting up. Six brass drop handles and three escutcheons, only the top one with lock. Black painted finish with red and white design of trees, birds, vines, and stylized flowers.Lexicon
