Police Officers were not routinely armed during the second world war but as this pamphlet shows they certainly had access to firearms and received some training in their use. This item is thought to have been used in East Sussex Constabulary as it came from the family of Lawrence E Taylor who joined the force in 1932 and eventually became a Detective Superintendent. During the war he is believed to have served at and around Seaford.
