Context

When Sussex Police introduced warrant card wallets with badges in 1998, special versions of the cap/hat badge in use were made to fit inside them. Like the cap/hat badges then in use, the ones for the warrant cards had a solid centre, however they also had a clear resin coating and instead of a rear slider had two rear prongs for attaching to the wallet. The resin coating was to prevent the badge from wearing a hole in the wallet. Later wallets used a voided badge like the one pictured and a resin coat that was by them also used on the cap/hat badges in use. As with the earlier wallet badges the new ones did not have a slider but two prongs.
