Description

Black and white photograph of a sleeping baby holding something in its right hand (left in image). The paper is on a fabric and wearing a light colored dress with short sleeves. The photograph is glued to a cardboard backing and at the bottom it reads ""a lind. calumet harbor, wis." The back of the cardboard reads "Chas. Lang, Photographer, Corner Main and Second Streets, Fond du Lac, Wis., Promenad Pictures with Fancy Scenery" with designs above and below this text. The background of the back is also textured with circles and different shapes. The photograph came in an envelope that reads "Baby 1, James Fowler father, #57". This is most likely O.E. Heller's organization system. The item is discolored especially along the edges and there are multiple stains. One stain is a spot along the right edge of the image just below the middle mark. The back shows the photograph was bent/folded in the middle.
