Single sheet of paper folded in half to create four pages of correspondence. There is a stamped seal in the top left corner of the first page that goes through to the top right corner of the last page (two seals face each other in the middle of the unfolded sheet of paper along the top edge). The seal is a flourish in a rounded triangle shape with leafy edges. The word "Satin" is in the middle. The letter is addressed "Camp Washbourne, Milwaukee Dec 26th 1861. Friend Edgar". Most likely a Civil War letter; it talks about rations, how his company was the first to be mustered in, and teases the recipient about his affairs with girls. It's signed "Yours in friendship, O haste, John W. Dick. To Edgar M. Dick. Direct to Milwaukee Wis. In care of Capt. Woods 2nd Regt W.C."Collection
