Bennett, receive the first copies off the press of a new booklet released in June by the Bureau of Indian Affairs entitled "Indians, Eskimos and Aleuts of Alaska." Left to right: Congressman-at-Large Ralph J. Rivers, Senator Ernest Gruening, Commissioner Bennett, Senator E.L. Bartlett. Bennett, an Oneida Indian from Wisconsin, served for three years as Area Director of the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Juneau before President Johnson appointed him Commissioner earlier this year."
