Tintype of a man standing next to a curtain (to his right, left in image). His hand is clasping his lapel near his shoulder. H e has a mustache and it looks as if the tintype was colored around his cheeks which look rosy. The tintype is framed with a cold decorative metal and "From Kansas" over the metal. The tintype is in a wood, latched book and there is a piece of red velvet with decorations opposite the image. The book has a floral design in the center bordered by a circle, branch looking flourishes, and finally a lined border. The front and back covers have the same design. The book came in an envelope with "Orlando D. Dick, #44" written on it. This is most likely O.E. Heller's organization system.
The book covers are worn especially on the designs because they are raised. The top and bottom of the binding are also worn and fraying.Photograph Details
