Single sheet, folded in half to make four pages of correspondence. The letter is addressed "Spring field Mo. June the 9th, Dear cousin Charlat". The ink is a pinkish-red color but changes to a brown in the last couple of lines. It is signed "So good by From H. Hammar, Direct Spring Field No. 2 reg company, A. Cavelry. Lt. Hammar".There is a stamp in the top left corner of the first page that goes through to the last page. It is oval with "Super Fine" across the top and A. F. Co diagonally through the middle.
