Half sheet of paper with a printed form and filled in with black ink. There is a decorative banner in the top left corner for the price of the bill. The top reads "P.O. Calumet, Brothertown, February 20th 1862, Bought of Bliss & Armstrong, One Vermont Marble Grave Stone; about four feet long, and proportionate width, to be delivered at Brothertown about the first of June next, unless some unforseen [sic] occurrence prevents, and then, as soon as may be; for which I agree to pay Twenty five Dollars. Stone to be finished as follows: Oval top with square corners, -- --. With the following Inscription: Amy wife of Jacob Fowler Died Feb 10th 1862 A.E. 69yrs 6 mos." Written in the bottom left corner is an addition inscription "as you are now so once was I, as I am now so you must be, prepare for death and follow me." The back cover page is written in both black ink and blue ink and reads "L.S. Fowler, Alex Fowler, Hannah Dick, Brotown $25" and in blue ink "Received on the within note twenty five dollars June 10th 1862".Collection
