Four page correspondence on a single sheet of folded paper. Faint blue lines only on page one. Writing goes to each edge and is addressed "On Picket near Fort Hancock, Near Petersburg, Va. Sept 23rd /64, Dear Ed." The signature is written up the right edge of the last page and it reads "yours A.W. Dick to Edgar M Dick, my love to you and all in the family" the last portion of this signature wraps around the top edge of the last page. The content of the letter is about the war and how he refuses to "give them independence as they call it".Collection
