Scope and Content

Single sheet of paper folded in half to create four pages of correspondence. The first page is addressed "Camp on Lake Spring, Mo. Apr. 4th 1863, Miss A. L. Fowler" and signed "My best wishes, L. M. Johnson, address as before and write soon." The letter is in response to the response to BC2010.022.468 and the disbelief as a reaction to that letter. He claims he was not lying and reiterates his opinion about the war, the soldiers condition, and what would the country be like if black people were freed.
