Four page letter on a single sheet of paper with a red, black, and blue eagle on top of a shield stamped in the top left corner of the first page. Peaking out from behind the shield are arrows to the right and branches to the left. The letter is addressed "Camp on the Hill near Jefferson City, Missouri. Wednesday morning May 21st 62. Friend Ed!" and is signed "Yours in Haste J. W. Dick to Edgar M. Dick. Direct to Saint Louis Missouri Co A 2nd Regt Wes. Vol. Cav". Talks about arriving in Jefferson City. It talks about how few people populate the city because most of the men are in the other army, but there are still "plenty of secesh here".Collection
