Black and white photograph of a man with a long beard. He is wearing a suit jacket and possibly a vest. The photo fades in a circular motion around him and cuts off around chest level. The photo was rectangular but was glued to a cardboard backing that was cut in an oval shape, cutting off each corner of the photograph as well. It does not affect the image. Written on the back in pencil "Dr. Newton Barker, husband of Marion Stage" and there are three five cent Washington stamps. On each, Washington's face has a black 'x' through it.
The cardboard backing shows staining around the edges and many dark spots, especially on the back. There are also dark spots on the photograph including a large one just below his right shoulder (left on photograph).Collection
