Archive material including correspondence, programs, invitations, maps, and articles during Bennett's career, mostly from his time as Commissioner of Indian Affairs 1966-1969.
Original binders have been located: they are padded, black leather binders with gold trim and burnt orange fabric on the inside. They have three brass rings to attach the pages to. The front of each binder reads "Robert L. Bennett Commissioner of Indian Affairs April 1966-May 1969" but all of the pages have been removed from them. The binders are located in Bennett Collection, Box 11.Collection

These are the letters, invitations, and notes that were in the binders, but were removed most likely for copying by museum staff.General Notes

Cataloging NoteNote
This accession was originally inventoried as 2 binders of Bennett scrapbook correspondence from when he was Commissioner of Indian Affairs from April 1966 to May 1969. Every item in the binders were removed from the binders presumably for photocopying. They were organized chronologically for the most part, but that could have been the original order, and placed in one large stack. The stack of papers was given the number 2001.3.200, but this is already taken by one of the photos. I tried to find all of the items that were taped into these binders (binders are now missing) and accessioned each as A2001.005.038.001-810 (and counting).Created By
