Scope and Content

Single sheet of paper folded in half to create four pages of correspondence. Writing only on first three pages. There is a stamp in the top left corner of the first page of a lion on top of a crown. The letter is addressed "Springfield Aug 25th 62. Dear Friend..." and signed "Yours truly J.M. Dick to E. M. Dick". The writer has typhoid fever but is doing okay in hospital. He thinks the Brothertown boys in his regiment are doing good. The receiver of the letter just enlisted and the writer warns him to be careful with the regiment he goes to. The writer thinks infantry is easier than cavalry.
