Scope and Content

Single sheet of paper folded in half to create four pages of correspondence. The first page is addressed "Camped, Lake Spring, Mo, June 7th 1863. Friend Abba" and signed "From your friend Sylvester Skeesuck. To Abba L. Fowler, write soon." On the fourth page (opposite page 1 unfolded) are a series of B's written upside down. The letter thanks various people for sending him things. It talks about the war and how a General has left to go somewhere else and the writer tried to go with him but could not get transportation for his horse.
