The correspondence reads "Fond du Lac Wis, Oct 1st 1869, Chauncy Fowler Esq., Brothertown, Wis., Dear Sir, I am informed that a company of musicians at your place are contemplating purchasing a band of instruments. I can furnish you a Brass Sett. Complete at from $2.50 to $2.75 and of best manufacture, warranted good, and will give satisfaction. Please give me a call, yours truly, S.J. Shover."
