Three pages of correspondence on a single piece of paper folded in half. The last page is blank. The letter is addressed "Head Quarters 1st Brigade Prov Div., Army of the Tennessee, July 9th 1865, Dear Friend". The letter is signed on the third page "Yours John W. Dick" and it was to E.M. Dick. It has a "direct to Co G 36th Wis Cols, Camp Randell, Madison Wis." The letter talks about how they have been ordered to be mustered out immediately. It talks about steamboats on the Ohio River and ends talking about how the men are going home again. BC2010.022.539B is the envelope the letter came in. It has "Headquarters First Army Corps, Washington, D.C., Official Business" and is addressed to "MR. Edgar M. Dick, Brothertown, Calumet County, Wisconsin. The envelope was opened along the right edge.
