Single sheet of notepad sized paper with a note written sideways on the paper in black ink. It reads "$17, Brothertown Wis. Jan. 5, 1889. On or before the first day December next for value received I promis [sic] to pay Franklin Phillips or bearer the sum of seventeen Dollars with interest at seven percent per anum." It is signed by Desdmond Fowler and there is a note to the left of the signature but it is difficult to read in the same hand as the signature. The back reads "January 15, 1890, Received on the within note $1.19 --" At the bottom right corner on the back there is more written in pencil but it is hard to read minus the $1.19 at the bottom.Collection
