Scope and Content

Four page correspondence on a single sheet of paper folded in half. The paper is a cream color and the ink is a pinkish color. The letter has a stamp in the top left corner of the first page that has "SUPER" in a decorative circle. The letter is addressed "near petersburg, March 31st 1865, Well dear friend" and signed "From your friend and well wisher S. Niles, to A.L.F." Abba L. Fowler is written in black ink in the bottom left corner of the last page, in a different hand writing (probably O.E. Heller). The ink is faded and difficult to read.
