Twelve pages of hand written notes in black ink. Each page only has writing on one side. Each page is numbered in the top left corner. The paper is a thin papyrus type paper. At the bottom of the last page "Otto E. Heller, Chilton, R3, Wis., May 23, 1937". The first line reads "In 1743 there came to the doorstep of Eleazer Wheelock, a Congregational pastor, at Lebanon, Conn., a Mohegan Indian by who desired to remain with the minister a few weeks in order to obtain enough knowledge to read the Bible and explain some of its passages to his people." The rest of the paper talks about Occum's journey, the beginning of the Brothertown, and the move to Wisconsin.Collection
