Two identical pamphlets titled "They Who Made the Way" by Coe Hayne. It's a "Souvenir in Honor of the Memory of Baptists One Hundred Years Ago In Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, and Wisconsin" and published by the American Baptist Publication Society in Philadelphia and The American Baptist Home Mission Society in New York. There is a three or four page article about Samson Occum and Brothertown at the very back. Written on only one of the copies in the top right corner on the front cover in black ink is "Brothertown Aug 3rd 1934".
There was an invitation folded in one of the pamphlets that reads "The State Historical Society of Wisconsin" and invites the recipient to apply to be a member of the society. On the bottom on the back typed is "W.A. Titus, Fond du Lac, Wis. Dear Mr. Heller: I feel sure that you will find this the best $3.00 investment you ever made. You are so interested in Indian history that you will appreciate the books of the Society." And signed in black ink W.A. Titus.Collection
