Three pages of correspondence on two separate pieces of paper. Writing is on the first page (BC2010.022.627A) both front and back and on page two (BC2010.022.627B) just the one side. Page one is addressed "Colby, Wis. Jan 4-1913, Dear Aunt:" and talks about how she just got home to find a gift from the receiver (a pillow) and apologizes she didn't get what she wanted done for them. The back of this sheet is written upside down and continues to list all the gifts she received. The second piece of paper starts by talking about Marcia and their feast of pork and head cheese. It is signed at the bottom of this page "love to all, Hattie".
BC2010.022.627C is the envelope that is addressed to "Louise Fowler, Chilton, Wisconsin, R.F.D.--2". On the back of the envelope written in ink at the top "From H.M. Johnson, Colby, Wisconsin" and upside down written in pencil in different ink "Hattie telling about her gifts in 1913".Collection
