Large sheet of paper that has been cut along the bottom in a mostly curved ling. The letter is written in pink ink and starts "Indianapolis, Indiana, June 18th 1864, Dear Friend, E. M. Dick, Esqr. Sir..." The letter is short apologizing for not writing sooner, but he was waiting for a letter from E. M. Dick which never came. He states there are no particulars to write about and signs it "This is from your sincere friend, J. A. --- Esqr." the last name is missing because the paper has been cut. there is writing on the back in both pink and black. The pink reads "These colors reed a shot from a seige [sic] gun at the battle of Chicamanga" and the black ink is upside down and reads "Well Ed don't be surprised iff [sic] I come home with a pretty southern lady as man & woman".Collection
