Black and white photograph of Robert Bennett slightly bent at the waist holding a shovel full of dirt. Another man is standing next to him with his hands in his pockets. Typed on the back of the photograph: "F66-4C 3161 A Bottle Hollow Ground-breaking Ceremony--Bonneville -- Central Utah Project, Utah. Breaking ground with the first shovel of earth is Commissioner Robert L. Bennett of the Bureau of Indian Affairs at the ground-breaking ceremonies for the Ute Indian Tribe's Bottle Hollow complex on the tribal lands about 6 miles east of Roosevelt, Utah. Master of Ceremonies for the occasion was Francis Wyasket, Chairman of the Uintah and Ouray Tribal Business Committee for the Ute Indian Tribe, shown with the Commissioner. This ground breaking signals the commencement of a $1.5 million motel complex to be built at the north end of the Bottle Hollow Reservoir. This reservoir, part of the Central Utah Project, is being built by the Bureau of Reclamation to compensate the Ute Indians for fish and wildlife benefits lost in constructing other features of the Central Utah Project. 6/1//68 Bureau of Reclamation phot by Mel Davis."Photograph Details
