Single sheet of paper with correspondence written on both sides. The address is in blue written upside down from the rest of the correspondence and reads "March the 14 Camp in the Field Near Cape fear, North Carolina my Dear Friend --" but it's unsure where it picks up. The other side, with the drawn Native in a headdress, seems to start the letter and the top half is in blue ink but the bottom half is in a brown ink (perhaps the blue lost its color). The drawing is also colored in red, blue, and brown. It talks about how they haven't had a day to rest. They must have been stationed in South Carolina, because he talks a lot about it.
BC2010.022.530B is an envelope, most likely from O.E. Heller rather than the writer of the letter. On one side of the envelope it reads "No. 74, Place: Camp in the field near Cape Fear, North Carolina, Date: March 14, 1865, From: No Name, on the march with Sherman".Collection
