Two pages of correspondence on a single sheet of paper folded making four pages total. The second and fourth page are blank, or if sheet is unfolded, writing is only on one half of each side of the paper. The first page has a stamp int he top right corner with "P&H" in the middle of a decorative circle. The letter is addressed "Head Quarters Cavalry Division, Dist of West Tenn, March 29th 1865, Friend Abba" and is signed on the third page "Very Respectfully Yours in haste, S. Skeesuck, Head Quarters Cavalry Division, Memphis Tenn." This letter is not in reply to a letter because he never received one. It talks about the company going to Vicksburg Mississippi with Major General Dana, but the writer didn't go because he received a detail to remain there as an Assistant Adjutant. The writer is unsure why they keep him there because he is not qualified to be a clerk.Collection
