Two black and white photographs, exactly the same, of a headstone for "Cynthia, wife of Tho's. Dick, Died Nov. 24, 1871, Aged 73 Years. She lies in the valley so sweet, But her spirit has taken its flight, -- her form is but dust neath our feet, while she is an angel of light." Someone is resting their hand on the top of the headstone, but they are out of the picture and in the background are more headstones.
There is a blue ink mark on the front near the left edge of the photo BC2010.022.054A. And written on the back in black ink it says "Thomas Dick, son of Elder Thomas Dick. Elder Thomas Dick is supposed to be buried in one of the graves with the small lime stone marker. Died before 1839, age about 84. Deborah his wife is also buried here. Taken Aug 3, 1934. O.E. Heller" and written in different ink at the bottom "Crossley Monument in back ground".
BC2010.022.054B does not have writing on the back, but there are brown marks on the back.Photograph Details
