Black and white photograph of Robert Bennett standing and speaking with five other men sitting at a long table with him. There appears to be a cake directly in front of Bennett on the table. Three of the men are Christian leaders with white collars and two of the other men plus Bennett are wearing suits and ties. There is a poster of South Dakota hanging behind Bennett. Typed on the back "Meeting of: National Advisory Committee on American Indian Work of the Episcopal Church at Pierre, South Dakota. April 24-27, 1967. Commissioner Bennett on the occasion of his first anniversary in his office as Commissioner addresses the --" [see condition notes].

Notes

The photo was once glued to something and the typed label on the back is not covered by remnants of the paper it was glued to. Most of the message is now covered. What isn't covered is "-- Bishop of North Dakota -- Dakota Commission on -- Advisory -- Episcopal -- Easte- -- Bishop of South Dakota -- Executive Officer for -- Department of the Executive -- Church and Coordinator for -- Work." Most likely these were all the names of the individuals identified in the photo and their titles.
