Legal sized paper with two pages of correspondence. The top margin on the front page is large and is addressed "Camp Washburne Milwaukee Feb. 8th 1862, Well Brother Soldier". It talks about the spread of measles through the battalion which is made up of four companies. It lists the companies at the bottom of the first page and who is in them. The back is a letter written the same day to "Friend Edgar" in response to Edgar's letter. It talks about the uncertainty of the war and where they will be sent off to. It is signed "John W. Dick". It is a Civil War letter.
