Description

Black and white photograph of two older individuals. The man is sitting in a chair with his arm resting on a railing with thick spindles. He has a beard, but no mustache, and is wearing a three piece suit. The woman is standing to his left (right in the photograph) and she is wearing a lighter color dress with a dark collar or scarf. Her hair is pulled back and her right hand is on his left shoulder. The photograph is glued to a piece of cardboard that has a banner design on the back with "Excelsior, M. McGowan, Photograper [sic], No. 492, Main St., Red Brick Front, Fond du Lac, Wis." The photograph came in an envelope that reads "Phebe and Bill Shapley, Great aunt of Millard, #68". This is most likely O.E. Heller's organization system.
