Description

Black and white photo of Native women in traditional regalia with a crowd of onlookers behind them. The woman on the right is wearing a crown and holding a woven blanket draped over her left arm. She has a sash that starts "Miss N" but is covered by the blanket, original accession sheet says it's Miss Navajo but could be Miss Native America. The woman to her right is wearing a shawl with fringe and holding a feather fan in her right hand. She is wearing a buckskin dress with fringe and bead accents and a headband. There are two older women to her right wearing shawls and moccasins. Typed in the bottom right corner is "Branch of Land Operations - B.I.A." and written in white ink "151-67-77" in the same corner but different orientation.
