Two small sheets of paper that were pinned together with a thin nail. The nail has been removed for safety and each sheet has been given its own accession number.
BC2010.022.869A is the white colored piece of paper with black ink writing that reads "Mancehster Oct 1st 1855, on or before the first day of October 1857 for calue received I promis [sic] to pay Laton Fowler five hundred Dollars with interest at ten percent per anum." The signature has been ripped off, but there is another paragraph at the bottom that updates the pricing with interest in 1857. The back also has writing on it discussing when payments were received and signed by Laton Fowler, it appears to be three sections on the back.
BC2010.022.869B is the blue colored piece of paper with black ink writing that lays out a series of calculations. The back reads "Lowell H. Waffle Note, $500,00, Oct 1st 1855, Due 2 years".Collection
