Single sheet of paper folded in half to create four pages of correspondence. Blue ink stamp in the top left corner of the first page of a farm scene with a circle in the center of a distance shot of land and "Ohio" above the circle. The letter is addressed "Newalbany, Indianna [sic], Oct the 19 "62. Dear Brother and sister..." and signed "give my love to Father and Mother Brother and sister and to all enquiring [sic] friends. Direct to Gen Hospital No four New Albany, Indianna [sic]. These few lines is from Edgar M. Dick to Mr Asa Dick". The content of the letter includes how he got hurt at the Battle of Perryville. Shot in the hand that he usually writes with so hasn't been able to write for a while. The writer is reassuring his siblings not to worry about him because he is alright, just stiff.Collection
