Appointment letter of William Dick of Brothertown as Peace maker and Justice of the Peace for the County of Oneida. It is a large piece of paper that starts "The People of the State of New York, by the Grace of God, Free and Independent..." It is witnessed by Governor De Witt Clinton and signed by the secretary (signature unreadable) on March 12, 1822. An official New York seal is stamped just left of the "In Testimony whereof" paragraph.Collection
