Single sheet of paper, folded to make four pages of correspondence. Writing only on first page and second page. The paper is a green color with blue lines. The letter is addressed "Head Quarters, Springfield Mo, Aug 16th /62. Well Abba" and signed "from your well wishes, S. Skeesucks. Direct Springfield Mo. In care of Capt Wm Woods, Comdg Body Guard Brig Genl Brown".There is a faint stamp in the top left corner of the first page (mirror image when paper is unfolded in the center) that is oval in shape with a seal in the center of a castle with a crown on the top and "Hyperion Tint" above and below the castle and crown. The content of the letter includes the sickness of the soldiers but most are on the mend except one with typhoid. The soldier heard they were going to draft from WI and that many are running away to Canada to avoid the draft.Collection
