Four page correspondence on a single sheet of paper folded in half and lined. The letter is addressed "Colby Dec 9th 1891, Dear sister" and is signed on the bottom of the fourth page (opposite the first page) "P.J. Johnson". In the bottom left corner of the fourth page is "A.S.F" presumably for Agnes Fowler. There is a stamp in the top left corner of the first page that reads "DONNER LAKE".
BC2010.022.597B is the envelope the letter came in. The stamp is missing, but there is a dark stain of residue left from the stamp glue. The envelope is addressed "Mrs. Agnes L. Fowler, Brothertown, Calumet, Co., Wis" and in a different penmanship and ink at the top of the envelope "From Jane Dec 9 1891 telling of her house".Collection
