Two page correspondence written on two individual sheets of paper. Each piece of paper only has writing on one side. The first page of the letter (BC2010.022.612A) is addressed "Spencer, Wisconsin, Feb. 10, 1895, E.M. Dick, Brothertown, Wis." and along the top edge in the middle is "No.2". The second page of the letter (BC2010.022.612B) has the signature at the bottom "Yours in F.H.&C." Rizpah Crowell". It is a chain letter asking for money to help out a local Templar group gain the finances to construct a building. It asks for 2 cents and to send this letter to three others to do the same.
BC2010.022.612C is the envelope it was sent in and is addressed to "E.M. Dick, Brothertown, Wisconsin". In two different penmanships, at the top in blue ink is "Rizpah Crowell" and in the bottom left corner written in pencil is "chain letter". The envelope was torn along the right edge to retrieve the letter.Collection
