Two pages of correspondence on two separate sheets of paper. Writing is only on one side of each piece of paper. Th letter (BC2010.022.621A) is addressed "Colby, Wis., Dec 23rd, 1900, My Dear Aunt". In the top margin of this first page, written upside down, is "Is uncle Mell Johnson around there yet". The second page of the letter (BC2010.022.621B) has the number "2" in the top right corner and is signed at the bottom "Well I must close with Merry Christmas and a very happy new year to all from, Hattie". It talks about the bad weather, travel to see Jim's folks who are having bad luck including two cut fingers that kept one from work, and a cracked bone for another. The second page (BC2010.022.621B) talks about Babe and how she helped "Aunt Hattie" with cleaning and wants a dolly and buggy for Christmas.
BC2010.022.621C is the envelope that is addressed to "Mrs. Agnes L. Fowler, Brothertown, Calumet Co., Wis" with a single 2 cent stamp. Written on the back of the envelope is "Clays wife and children Picture in Sept. 1898" "Lern's had small -- in 1901" and "Hattie picture 1900, Hattie 24 the 14 1900".Collection
