Description

Tintype of a young child. The child is being held by an adult male but all you see of the male is his arm across the child's chest and his shoulder. The child's hand also rests on its own chest just above the male hand. The tintype is glued to a piece of paper with a border that includes flourishes in each corner. Written in pencil above the tintype on the paper is "Millard F. Johnson". The tintype was stored in an envelope that reads "Millard Johnson #67". This is most likely O.E. Heller's organization system.

Notes

The border is dirty, stained, and is creased along the edges of the tintype which is thicker. The back of the paper is also stained most likely from the adhesive to attach the tintype, but could also be from it being attached to something else. The tintype itself has a ring that follows the border of the paper, most likely from oxidization.
