Four page letter on a single piece of lined paper. Written in black ink and cursive. The first page ha a number of letters drawn, it looks like practice. It also has words like "Brothertown County," "Calumet," "Hanover," and "Manuscript" can be made out.
The second page has a title "For the Star of Hope" and starts "Communications. Well, I declare, here it is the everlasting, round of wash iron, scrub, mop, cook..." It reads as a series of requests from a husband to a wife. It states on page two that if they could do it over they would be an old maid and never has time for herself to even go to church, for she would not enjoy church she dreads Mondays so much. It ends as an advertisement for a sewing machine that will solve all your problems. Signed "L.F." possibly Louise Fowler.Collection
