Single sheet, folded in half to create four pages of correspondence. The first page has a large black stamp at the top of a man riding a horse and a large flying eagle in the center with a banner that reads "E Pluribus Unum" and below the eagle is "Head Quarters, 2nd Regiment, Wis. Cavalry, Camp Washburn. Milwaukee, 1862". It is addressed "March 20th, Cousin Abby". The writer is unwell but hopes to be better by next Saturday when his regiment is moving south to St. Lam's. It is signed "From L. M. Johnson, your well wisher" and asks the recipient not to write back because he will not get the letter if they move.Collection
