Four pages of correspondence written on a single sheet of paper folded in half and lined. The letter is addressed "Colby Nov 3rd 1885, Dear sister" and signed faintly on the fourth page P.J. Johnson. It looks like H.S. Fowler is written in the bottom left corner of the last page. The ink must have run out at the bottom of the second page and the writer looks to have changed pens to a lighter black ink for the third and fourth page. The writing gets really crunched on the bottom of the fourth page as the writer begins to run out of room.
BC2010.022.592B is the envelope the letter came in. It has a two cent stamp with a star over the image. The letter is addressed to "Miss Agnes L. Fowler, Brothertown, Calumet Co., Wis. From Jane".Collection
