Two, two-page letters written on a single sheet of paper folded in half. The first letter starts on the right half of the front page and goes to the left half of the other side. The second letter starts on the right half of the second side and continues to the left side of the front side. The letter has a stamp in the top left corner of the first page of a male bust encircled. The letter is addressed "Near Brandy Station, April 28th 1864. Friend Edgar" and signed "I remain as ever your friend, Lewis Kindness". The second letter is addressed "Camp 5th Wis. 144, April 28th, 1000.800.64. Capt. Dick" and is signed "Good bye. Hopin gto hear from you soon, as ever your friend. Simons, to Edgar M. Dick Esq." So it appears they are written by two different people, but it looks like the same penmanship.Collection
