Single page typed correspondence that reads "Grand Butte, Oct. 24, 1842, Mr. C.I. Coon, Sir: My father wants you to make one double coffin for my Mother..." It is signed "Respectfully yours, Chas. A. Grignon" and has note about the death at the bottom: "Nancy, wife of Augustin Grignon died at the Grand Butte des Morts, on Monday the 24th of Oct. 1842 at 4 l'clock [sic] in the afternoon aged about sixty years". There are two copies of the same letter.Collection
